Job Announcement – Aircraft Technical Director

Position Overview
Our Aviation Division is seeking an accomplished and visionary Aircraft Technical Director to lead its aviation operations, overseeing aircraft procurement, specification design, cargo systems, and regulatory compliance. This is a strategic leadership position requiring deep technical expertise and proven operational judgment in aircraft systems and engineering within civil or cargo aviation sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical specifications development for aircraft procurement and tendering processes
- Review, evaluate, and approve supplier proposals, aircraft documentation, and compliance manuals
- Provide oversight on aircraft lifecycle planning, maintenance systems, and asset acquisition
- Advise executive management on fleet strategy, technical innovation, and cargo capacity integration
- Ensure all operations meet national and international aviation regulations and safety standards
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies, civil aviation authorities, and inspection missions
- Direct cargo handling system designs and optimize weight, fuel, and load configurations
- Supervise technical teams and provide mentorship to engineering personnel
- Lead audits, tender evaluations, and negotiate contracts with OEMs and aircraft vendors
- Liaise with ground operations, air safety officers, and logistics teams for operational continuity
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in aircraft operations, engineering, and cargo systems
- Strong background in aircraft tendering, specification writing, and international procurement
- Knowledge of ICAO, IATA, EASA, or FAA technical standards and operational compliance
- Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams in technical aviation environments
- Familiarity with aircraft types, cargo weight balances, and air logistics planning
- Excellent report writing, contract negotiation, and project planning capabilities
Ability to operate under remote conditions and multi-stakeholder environments
