The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works in developing tools for prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public healthy importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Auto Mechanic is being accountable to the Property & General Service Director; and performs day to day activities and other related activities.
· Performing test drivers, inspections, and other diagnostic tests on vehicles to identify where problems exists and determine which parts need to be repaired or replaced
· Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
· Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
· Inspecting internal systems and controls to ensure the vehicle and machineries are operating properly and in compliance with state regulations
· Schedule future maintenance sessions
· Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
· Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
· Keep logs (history jacket) on work and issues
· Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
· Check the engine, gear-box, reduction gear parts regularly
· Apply safety regulation for the vehicles and machinery
· Make and coordinate preventive maintenance
Job Requirements
Education: College Diploma or 10+3 in Auto Mechanic or Automotive
Experience: 6 years of work experience as heavy and light mechanic or machinery mechanic
