Youth employment is one of the cross-cutting issue implemented across all projects in SNV Ethiopia. One of the projects that focus on youth employment is Realizing Aspiration of youth in Ethiopia through Employment (RAYEE).

RAYEE is five-year project that run from November 2019 to October 31,2024 implemented by SNV in partnership with Mastercard Foundation. It is operational in urban, peri urban and rural areas of Amhara, Oromia, Sidama, SNNPR, and Tigray regions and Dire Dawa City Administration. The project aims to create dignified and fulfilling employment opportunity for 240,000 young women and men, 70% women. RAYEE focuses on skill development of target young women and men and linking them to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. Moreover, RAYEE works in knowledge development and coordination to contribute to improvement of youth inclusive rules and regulations and market system development. RAYEE identifies business and employment opportunities to be 70% in agribusiness with the remaining to be achieved in other sectors, service, and manufacturing.

RAYEE is in its fourth year of implementation, creating impact in the two pathways the project operates, i.e employment in firms and entrepreneurial pathway. Year four is a year of impact for RAYEE which necessitated the active engagement of mainstream and media to communicate project results.

Job Requirements

Firm Requirement and Experience:

 

•        Relevant renewed license and tax registration.

•        University degree and/or certificate in audio-visual studies, cinematography, or any other related field of study.

•        Extensive experience in producing development related short video documentaries and documents for national or international organizations. Track record of successful materials filmed in youth employment.

•        Minimum of four years documented work experience in film/reportage/documentary writing, producing, directing, and editing.

•        Experience in producing youth related impact stories.

•        Excellent technical capacities (state of the art photography and filming equipment preferably High Definition) to ensure smooth and high-quality production.

•        Ownership or possession of full HD video camera, 1920 x1080p, 50FPS with its accessories.

•        Ownership or possession of a high resolution state-of-the-art professional camera.

•        Experience in development communication.

•        Submission of three recently produced similar documents.

•        Submission of three reference letters for performing similar assignments over the past five years.

•        Submission of name and contact addresses of three references who can witness/testify good performance.

•        Fluent in Amharic, English, Affan Oromo

•        Availability and willingness to travel to project woredas

•      Ability to work in close coordination with SNV team members and interact with young women and men.

Financial proposal with clear description of budget items, unit of measurement and quantity, unit rate, total budget, and any applicable tax (not more than 1 page).
