Purpose of PSI’s external audits: PSI mandates external audits of all sexual and reproductive health programs to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to every client its programs serve. This is critical to PSI fulfilling its mission to deliver high-quality information and health care in partnership with governments and local organizations. All PSI network members are required to conduct annual audits – either internal or external – demonstrating compliance with PSI’s global quality of care standards. Under PSI/Ethiopia’s Roadmap to Smart Start in Ethiopia (RISE) program, there is a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding between the donor CIFF, PSI, and MOH, to put in place a strong quality assurance and quality improvement scheme with technical assistance from PSI/Ethiopia, as this is critical to the adolescent-friendly service delivery to include such standards as an informed choice, safety, privacy and confidentiality, continuity of care and technical competency.
Scope of Work:
The goal of the PSI/Ethiopia & MoH audit: To conduct a quality assurance audit of PSI/Ethiopia’s RISE program, in collaboration with the MoH, that focuses on improving access to family planning information, counseling, and services in rural health posts and health centers in RISE operating regions of Ethiopia.
In partnership the PSI and MoH audit team will utilize the following tools and instruments developed by PSI and agreed upon by the MoH to evaluate:
- The quality-of-service delivery in 12 facilities (Health Posts and Health Centers in RISE sites) across two regions (Oromia and SNNPR/Sidama regions)
- The quality of Smart Start sessions conducted by HEWs after they took training on Smart start tools. The mobilization was conducted by HEWs and WDAs. The auditors will evaluate the client mobilization and the smart start session.
- Compliance with the agreed-upon QoC standards which fall under five domains of quality: 1. Technical competency, 2. Client safety, 3. Information Exchange, 4. Interpersonal connection, 5. Continuity of Care
Job Requirements

- Master’s degree in public health or related fields with five (5) years of demonstrated experience on SRH/FP program.
