Job Summary
- Assists Project Manager and/or Senior Contract Manager, as required, in the administration of the procurement process including, but not limited to, advance review of construction plans and specifications, assistance in preparation of documents (Pre-Q, Invite to Bid, RFI, RFP, etc.), coordinating and scheduling pre-bid and post bid clarification meetings, amendment preparation and contract negotiations for Project Manager and/or Senior Contract Manager Approval.
- Assists Project Manager and/or Senior Contract Manager, as required, to develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with policies of client
- Drafts commercial terms for design, engineering and/or construction services for approval by the Project Manager and/or Senior Contracts Manager.
- Review all contract documents (including RFI, RFP, etc.) to ensure congruity and to minimize patent and latent ambiguities.
- Assists Project Manager and/or Senior Contract manager, as required, with administration of on-going Contracts, including monitoring contractor and compliance with the Contract documents. Investigates problems and recommends corrective action.
- Prepares correspondence and maintains records necessary to ensure the effective administration of all Contractual matters.

- As requested by the Project Manager and/or Senior Contracts Manager,
- assist the Engineering representative and or his/her delegated assistant in contract change negotiations and claim analysis and resolution.
- Assists the Project Manager in contract close-out procedures to ensure that all terms and conditions of contracts have been complied with prior to final payment to contractor.

Qualification
- Candidate having 10+ years’ working experience in the contract management department of a reputed company, especially for the EPC Contract and relevant subcontract.
- Candidate, who has successfully managed contracts from drafting, evaluation, negotiation to execution process, needs to be skilled in numerous areas including legal compliance, variation and claim, negotiation, and relationship management.
- Served as the point of contact for customers/Clients on contractual matters. Acted as contractual “middleman” between company employees and Client, ensuring timely review and approval/reconciliation of variations.
- Excellent negotiating and persuasive skills, both in one-on one and group situations.
- Good command of spoken and written English
Minimum Requirements
- 10 years of post-graduate work experience Effective oral and written communication skills in English required.
- The Contracts Manager must be able to effectively communicate with all members of the project team, and be client and contractor-facing. Experience in a construction office is preferred.
- Conversant with Standard Methods of Measurement
- Conversant with FIDIC Forms of Contract.
- Conversant with regulatory, legislative and industrial changes to review if changes are needed to contracts, Must be able to operate under a degree of autonomy with direction from the Project Manager and/or Senior Contracts Manager.
- Must be able to directly negotiate Contractual matters with the Contractors, for the Project Manager and/or Senior Contracts Manager’s final approval.
- Must have a proven track record in major projects and programs. KPI’s must be achieved every month to avoid penalties to the Construction Manager.
