About the Job

The Opportunity 

The cost recovery officer is responsible for: on a monthly basis cost should be covered from different active grants. Ensures grants and cost centre is properly set up for cost apportionment on the financial system, carry out cost recovery to grants on fair and consistent basis and in accordance with the cost recovery policy of PIE and GH, develop work on cost classifications in coordination with the finance team to support the cost recovery policy of the organisation, ensure staff salary funding matrix is properly updated and salary WBS is submitted to treasury unit accurately and timely.

About You

The Individual

  • BA degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience of in accounting, budgeting and financial responsibilities, at least 2yrs of which spent in working directly with donor budgets.
  • Basic knowledge of Finances role and grant management role.
  • Knowledge of cost recovery processes.
  • Substantial understanding of excel and budgeting functions.
  • Integrated knowledge and understanding of grant accounting concepts, practices, systems, and procedures

 

Safegurding Children and Young People (Safegurding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion(GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
  • Ensures that the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
