COVAX response Coordinator 72 views

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

·       Coordinate COVAX vaccination activities, with Save the children and key strategic partners and stakeholder in order to meet the response objectives within budget limit and allowed time frame.

·       Prepare the response work plans in coordination with project office manager and Country office health response technical staffs.

·       Continuously monitor and supervise COVAX response activities, evaluating progress through outputs and impact. Conduct regular monitoring visits to the response sites/health facilities as possible, ensuring that projects utilize standardized protocols, policies and guidelines, as outlined by the Ministry of Health and WHO.

·        Identify technical quality and/or other implementation issues, and provide solutions with follow-up to ensure projects are on track to meet goals and are consistent with established best practices.

·       Participate and proactively engage in COVID-19 preparedness coordination meetings and working groups at field level representing save the children.

·       Provide summary notes off all external meetings for relevant internal stakeholders.

·       Supporting Government Health Work forces in COVAX vaccine delivery, delivering training and implementation of other COVAX related activities at targeted Woredas and health facilities

·        Ensure that the COVAX response is implemented in line with the save the children principles and Donor requirement and MOH national COVAX vaccination guidelines and protocols and priorities

·       Follow up the medical and operational supply chain system, stock recording, timely ordering for the supplies and accountabilities in relation to the warehousing and using of the supplies including PPE and other medical items.

·        Promote the culture of learning and documentation so that lessons learned and good practices are documented and shared for institutional memory and learning.

·        Involved in implementation of COVID-19 vaccination by having adequate knowledge and skills in order to ensure safe and efficient COVID-19 vaccine administration at targeted Woredas.

·       Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to applicable timeframes and formats.

·       Work with finance to provide accurate and timely spending plans, cash forecasts, and salary allocations

·       Actively develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and existing Humanitarian agencies.

·        Participates in responses to public emergencies (disaster, outbreaks),

·       Report on progress made and level of implementation of a COVID-19 vaccine deployment. ·

·       Report on action plan for vaccine implementation and analysis and recommendation to WHO delegate. ·

·       Monthly Performance report on completed actions and tasks ·

·        Work on cold chain and vaccine management in the targeted operation area

·       Reports updates on humanitarian situations of implementation areas,

·       Reports any problems in a timely manner to the project coordinator,

·       Control and facilitate vehicle movement within the project area in the field,

·       Upholds the image and values of SC at all times,

·       Performs other related tasks as required,

·       Generate quality COVAX response update on demand

·       Abide to donor, organization and Governmental compliance issues without compromization.

Accepting additional role and responsibilities as assigned for best intrust of the beneficiaries .

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE  

     MINIMUM QUALFICATION AND EXPEREINCE

·       Health professional with minimum of 5 years’ field experience in public health and COVID-19 /COVAX response.

·        Experience in coordinating, implementing and managing health programs in emergency contexts.

·        Strong leadership, management, planning, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; Ability to live and work in stressful and insecure environment;

·       Excellent initiator, able to manage multiple tasks.

·       and/or experience in conflict management, protection, or other related field; Excellent professional approach and strong team building skills. Strong coordination and representation skills and well versed in convincing and clarification of views and points

Skills/Ability required:

·       Familiarity with National and WHO COVAX management guidelines implementations.

·       Knowledge, training and experience on COVID-19 responses; COVAX in EPI

·       Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation and monitoring.

·       Demonstrated skills in peer group training, Training of Trainers and development of training materials.

·       Proficiency in spoken and written English and Local language

·       Strong computer (Microsoft skills), all and interpersonal skills.

·       Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

·       Willingness to work under pressure and extra hours.

·       Work experience in similar position is advantageous.

·       Having NGO or INGO work experiences are desired
