The Opportunity
This position holder is responsible for assessment, response analysis, design and implementation of the education sector under UNICEF funded project. The Education Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation and monitoring of education project activities in the three target woredas, ensuring quality service delivery and promoting inclusive education for all children. This includes supporting teachers, engaging communities, and collaborating with local education authorities.
Educational Qualification and Experience
- B.A. degree in Education, Community Development, social science
- Three years of managing education (preferred working in emergency context).
Knowledge
- Knowledge of humanitarian activities and understanding of international NGOs is preferred.
- Awareness of child protection issues
- Sensitivity to gender and child protection.
Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
- Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
- Ensures that the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
- Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
