Doctors with Africa CUAMM is an international NGOs, based in Italy, established in 1950 with the aim of supporting developing countries in their effort to build sustainable and accessible health systems. The organization’s mission is to improve the quality, accessibility and equity of health services.

CUAMM, in collaboration with FMOH, has been implementing a project titled “Newborn survival project” with the primary aim of improving quality and accessibility of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit services (NICUs). As part of the project, CUAMM is planning to edit and make ready three NICU related didactic materials developed by FMOH. Hence, CUAMM is planning to recruit a professional English language and document layout editor.

Duration of the document editorial work: 1 week

Overall responsibilities of Position:

  • The English language and document layout editor will be responsible for editing and make ready three NICU-related didactic materials prepared by FMOH.

Specific Responsibilities:

The person shall be responsible for the editing of 3 didactic materials for a total of 380 pages written in English.

He/she will be responsible to make grammar editing, spelling editing, and editing for printing layout (i.e. checking the use of the correct font, dimension and layout of pictures and Tables in the didactic materials).

He/she must ensure proofreading of all the documents. The documents shall not be subjected to content editing.

Final Deliverables

  • Edited and ready to be printed three NICU-related didactic materials.

Job Requirements

Required Education, Experience and Competencies:

The candidate must be proficient in English (written skills primarily)

  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Previous experience with editing and proofreading of health-related manuals/documents
  • Be precise with strong attention to details
  • Possess his/her own laptop to carry out the job
  • The person should have legal documents to conduct language-related jobs.
