Shemu Group is a conglomerate company composed of Shemu PLC, Asveza Ethiopia Retailing Share Company other functional private limited companies with a fast growth track record. The Companies in the group engaged in manufacturing (liquid soap, bar soap, Edible oil and shortening products), retail service providing, printing, trading and engineering. Based on this, our sister Company, Modern Packaging Industries PLC want to hire competent, energetic, enthusiastic and capable applicants for the post we have.

Major Duties

The holder of this position is responsible for overseeing the performance and delegating tasks to workers. Is also responsible for ensuring that the factory targets are met, and also  is responsible for maintain a positive work environment and demonstrate good leadership abilities.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing innovative strategies to streamline factory operations.
• Screening, recruiting and training new  factory workers.
• Collaborating with quality control managers to establish and execute quality control processes.
• Ensuring that factory machinery is in good working order.
• Analyzing production data to identify and resolve any production issues.
• Preparing production reports and submitting them to key decision-makers.
• Regularly inspecting finished products to determine whether they meet established quality standards.
• Motivating factory workers to continually achieve factory targets.
• Planning factory daily routines.
• Meeting customer’s expectations and demands.
• Supervising the factory workers on the production floor.
• Maintaining high standards of the production line.
• Implementing production strategies as per the requirements.
• Monitoring the factory operations.
• Taking corrective action as and when required.
• Resolving any factory-related issues.
• Assigning tasks to the factory staff.
• Creating and enforcing quality control standards.
• Implementing machine maintenance operating procedures.
• Suggesting improvements in the strategies.
• Preparing production schedules and reports.
• Presenting the reports to the higher management.
• Assisting the HR department in hiring.
• Providing training to the new employees.
• Inspecting the quality of the finished products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, industrial management, or related fields
• 8 years experience in related position out of which 2 years must be in managerial positions

• Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a factory.
• Sound knowledge of packaging industry-specific factory equipment.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
