Job Description

Summary

General Service Officer is responsible for property management, supervises the security, cafeteria services, gardening and janitorial services of the compound, controls and supervises vehicle management, effect electricity and telephone bills, basic maintenance and repair, materials handling, custodial services, and/or other related duties in accordance with day-to-day requirements of the specified department.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Property Administration
  • Manages stock items according to prescribed inventory.
  • Initiates purchase request when the stock reach re-order level.
  • Receives, Store and Issue items purchased.
  • Initiates disposal list of items with full history and description.
  • Carries out perpetual and periodic inventory.
  • Assures the proper insurance coverage for the vehicles and offices.
  • Supervises the Cleanness of the offices, meeting rooms and others.

Security service

  • Monitors the outsourced security services in line with the agreement
  • Keeps security records and report to Human Resource & Admin Manager
  • Monitors the plantation of grasses, watering and up keeping plants, flowers of the compound
  • Supervises and control the quality service of cafeteria activities as per the company requirement
  • Assures the continuous provision of water and power supply to the compound.
  • Collects and Effect electric and telephone bills.
  • Controls and supervise vehicle management activities.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, and annual reports
  • Undertakes all other related duties as may be required
  • May perform routine, minor maintenance, installation, and repair of physical plant and equipment for the unit as appropriate to the position; may assist with and/or coordinate larger on-site maintenance/repair projects as required.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Knowledge
  • Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment.
  • Ability to communicate well in English
  • Ability to make independent decisions and judgments on routine procedural issues.
  • Ability to maintain and control equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Ability to safely operate motorized vehicles and various items of mechanical equipment for site maintenance purposes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of local languages in an added advantage
  • Clear understanding of and practice of customer skills
  • General office administration knowledge
  • Culturally aware
