About the Job

As a Café and Restaurant Storekeeper, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the inventory and supplies within the establishment. Your primary duties will include receiving, storing, and issuing goods, maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, and ensuring that stock levels are sufficient for the smooth operation of the café and restaurant. You will work closely with kitchen staff, management, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and minimize waste. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role

About You
  • Receive and inspect deliveries of food, beverages, supplies, and equipment to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Properly store goods in designated areas, following FIFO (first in, first out) principles to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or computerized systems, including recording quantities received and issued.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to ensure adequate stock levels and prevent shortages.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to place orders, negotiate prices, and track delivery schedules. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records.
  • Assist in the preparation of purchase orders and invoices, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
  • Handle and store hazardous materials according to safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Keep storage areas clean, organized, and free from hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the organization and execution of inventory audits and inspections as required. Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to forecast demand and plan menu items based on inventory levels and availability.
  • Monitor food and beverage consumption trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and loss.
  • Train and supervise storekeeping staff, providing guidance on proper procedures and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the efficient operation of the café and restaurant.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and restaurant management team to develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory management, including receiving, storage. and issuance processes.
  • Conduct regular inspections of storage areas to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and cleanliness standards.
  • Coordinate with the accounting department to reconcile inventory records with financial statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Support special events and promotions by coordinating additional inventory requirements and ensuring adequate stock levels
  • Perform related tasks as per the cost controller/Restaurant manager’s request.
