The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2019, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is undergoing institutional reform to enhance its credibility and capacity and conduct free, impartial, and credible elections. Through the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), NEBE has contracted ABH Partners to provide human resource recruitment and management services.

Accordingly, ABH partners would like to invite applicants who meet the below requirements to apply for the position of ICT Network Administrator. 

The ICT Network Administrator reporting to ICT Manager, will manage the daily operations of computer networks and ensure that the system is operating at full capacity, be responsible for maintaining computer networks and solving problems, ensures security and connectivity. S/he will also monitor, configure and maintain all network activities and be able to ensure smooth network activities.

Reports to: ICT Manager

Duty station: NEBE Head Quarter, Addis Ababa

Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension

Salary:  Attractive (Non Civil Service Scale)

Expected Start Date: Immediately after obtaining the contract

Major Responsibilities

·         Install and Configure computer networks and system (LAN, MAN, WAN and wireless networks)

·         Set up user accounts (email accounts), pass word and cancel permission for terminated employees

·         Assist staffs with instant message, desktop sharing, video call and voice call

·         Responsible for coding all computers

·         Make upgrades and repair as needed

·         Ensure the network system works smoothly

·         Monitor network performance

·         Integrate new hardware and software systems

·         Ensure newly purchased hardware and software equipment’s are compatible with the company’s standard

·         Consulting with clients to specify system requirements and design solutions

·         Responsible for supporting all regional offices concerning their network system

·         Identify and install new and important technologies

·         Responsible for installation of internet (data) and follow up of the internet system

·         Designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation

·         Assist with network policy and procedure drafts

·         Budgeting for equipment’s and evaluate qualities

·         Isolate and protect the board’s data from internet threats

·         Must inform Ethio telecom if there is any internet disconnection

·         Conduct employee trainings when needed

·         Follow instruction from managers

·         Liaising with programmers, applications /operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information system, Management information system or related field.

·         5 years of relevant experience.

·         Demonstrated professional experience and knowledge in network administration;

·         CISCO certified (CCNA);

·         Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking;

·         Excellent problem solving and communication skill;

·         Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness;

·         Ability to work with senior management;

·         Ability to set up and configure server hardware;

·         Knowledge of firewalls and prevention systems;

·         Good problem-solving and team working skills;

·         Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality;

·         The ability to remain highly organized while handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines;

·         Attention to detail;

·         Fluency in English required.
