Position: ICT Officer

Reports to: Support Coordinator

Duty station:  Gambella

Role and responsibilities

The ICT Officer is responsible for providing technical ICT support to the Gambella office.

Generic responsibilities

  •  Implement NRC’s ICT policies and guidelines at office level
  • Ensure system security
  • Ensure that network access privileges, applications, data storage and regular backups are configured and maintained
  • Implement and update a data disaster recovery plan (back up)
  • Schedule computer related services, maintenance and license renewals
  • Ensure installation and maintenance of protection services (anti-viruses and firewalls)
  • Plan network upgrades, expansions and replacements
  • Provide ICT support and trainings to staff
  • Participate in the procurement processes of ICT equipment

Specific responsibilities

  •  Facilitate basic computer literacy training to youth training beneficiaries in the refugee camps
  • Serves as the lead IT liaison with senior administration, faculty, staff and students in designated area(s) to understand and interpret client needs at a division level and to collaborate across lines in meeting those needs.
  • Provides technical leadership on a variety of highly specialized project-related activities requiring expertise in specific technical areas for core information technology systems and services.
  • Designing and installing computer hardware configurations in consultation with country office
  • Make sure that data , documents are uploaded timely in the system
  • Troubleshooting network and software issues.
  • Installing high-level software security systems in consultation with country office
  • Fixing hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Responding to general IT requests.
  • Ensuring security software kept up to date.

Education & Experience

  • BA degree in computer since or computer engineering information technology
  • 3 Years and above after graduation
  • At least 1 year working experience in International NGO’s.
