Farm Africa is an international NGO founded in 1985, with a vision to ensure a prosperous rural Africa. It is a specialist development NGO working with smallholder farmers and forest communities, local governments, and the private sector in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. The organization is an expert in the fields of agronomy, livestock, natural resources management, and market engagement. With community engagement underpinning our approach, we design and implement sustainable solutions to rural poverty based on evidence and best practices.

Farm Africa currently wants to invite those eligible bidders for undertaking production of video and photo documentaries for its Enhancing Market Systems for Improved Sustainable Livelihoods project in three woredas of South Wollo and Oromo Nationality Zones in Amhara Region. The project aims to contribute to improve income and food security status of target households by developing a market system that works for the poor in a sustainable manner.

Job Requirements

Qualifications of the Consultants 

1.     Bidders shall submit all the legal documents (renewed Trade License, Registration, TIN, VAT/TOT certificates)

2.     The lead consultant should have a recognized degree in: Journalism, Literature, English & Foreign Languages or related field with sound knowledge of the areas.

3.     The lead consultant should have at least five (5) years of proven professional experience in storytelling and producing video and photo documentaries (short and long-format films and professional photography) in similar assignments with developmental aid organizations, donors and private institutions.

4.     Fluency in English is mandatory.

5.     Ability to operate under strict timeline and apply high production and technical standards for the purpose of maintaining high level of professionalism.

6.     Demonstrable professional scriptwriting, planning, cinematography, editing, narration, mixing and presentation skills.

7.     Very good knowledge of current developments and practices in communication including digital media and indigenous media.

8.     Track record of successful productions captured on similar topics is required and proof of experiences with three sample video and photo productions should be submitted with application to bid.

9.     Excellent technical capacities (well-equipped with updated software and hardware to ensure smooth and high-quality production).

10.  Bidders shall clearly state their unit price and total price including VAT/ToT in ETB properly signed and stamped.

Interested bidders should submit their Technical and Financial proposals in two separate files duly marked as “Technical” and “Financial” proposals. The document must be delivered to the email [email protected] on or before 5:00PM 29 Sep 2022. Late bids will be rejected.

Bid proposals will be opened by Farm Africa Procurement Committee. Qualified bidders will be considered based on their responsiveness to the requirements listed above, technical, and financial evaluation results. Finally, the winner will be notified through the firm’s address.

Farm Africa Ethiopia reserves the right to accept or reject all or parts of the bids at any time without assigning any reason or reasons whatsoever.
