Job Summary

The Project Manager is accountable to the Planning, Investment and Project Management Directorate Director and is responsible for developing different policies and strategies of the Project and ensures that the Project is delivered on time. He/ She ensures the Project is effectively resourced and is also responsible for Planning; managing, allocating and utilizing resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning, implementing and leading the Project  activities;
  • Formulate a system and strategy for the Project and identify its strategic areas of activities.
  • Develop a system for the implementation of Project and identifies the function and responsibilities, of the project,
  • Identify the strategic areas of the project and develop a long, medium and short term plan,
  • Formulate systems and procedures based on the purpose, mission and strategies of the corporate which will guide, develop performance measurement tools evaluate and take corrective measures;
  • Identify the most up-to-date changes that can be made to the success of the projects and formulate a system of procedures for its implementation;
  • Establish and set up a system for working in collaboration with other sectors and evaluate the performance jointly and severally, and take corrective actions on time,
  • gather information and use as an input to decision making that has an impact on project
  • Develop  the vision, purpose, mission and strategies of the Project and develop performance measurement systems, evaluate and take corrective measures;
  • Identify the key strategic objectives ;  develop an integrated  long, medium and short term plan ;  Evaluate the actual performance , take corrective actions and report it to the concerned  body,
  • Develop the forward and back ward value chain system and strategy for the Project; implement, evaluate the actual performances and take corrective actions.
  • Establishing good relationships with the banks and other financial institutions.
  • Develop Systems and strategies to ensure the reliable and sustainable inputs supply and management for effective operation of the Project; implement, evaluate the actual performances and take corrective actions.
  • Submit the Project audit reports to the concerned bodies to enable them take corrective measures on the audit findings and recommendations. \
  • Manage allocated projects in a controlled manner in order that the project objectives are met according to agreed time, budget and quality criteria.
  • Build up the skills of the managerial and non-managerial staff to enable  the Project to produce  at full capacity ;
  • Formulate a strategy that enables the Project to improve and utilize the timely maintenance and service.
  • Ensure that the Project implement the various reform and management tools ; follow up their performances, get a certificate and ensure their continuity.
  • Use inputs to decision making by collecting information on the events and circumstances influencing the scope of the project ;
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities given by the Planning, Investment and Project Management Directorate,

Job Requirements

About the Candidate

Qualifications Required 

Education

  • BA/BSC/MA/MSC/PhD degree in Chemical engineering; industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, Project Management, Economics, Business administration, leadership and related field of studies.

Experience

  • 10 years of relevant work experience for BA/BSC, 8 years for MA/MSC and 6 years for PhD degree. Relevant work managerial experience in project management is preferable.

Other Personal Attributes

  • Having good  Project management experience and knowledge , team work sprit, good ethical behaviour, good customer handling and serving approach skill,  willingness to accept changes and implement it; no prior disciplinary records, recommendable/accepted for the position; accepting the given responsibility and being committed for overcoming responsibilities; good previous performance history and working discipline;
