Responsibilities and Duties
- Do custom clearances and manage responsibility of customs clearance
- A clearing agent also handles documentation related to the shipments, including insurance forms, L/C documents, Shipping documents, DF documents, CO waiver document, Interchange documents and dispatch forms and others;
- Organize and arrange all documents in an orderly manner;
- Ensures that the shipment is compliant with the hazardous shipping compliance information;
- Keeps track of routing information;
- Verify that the carrier he uses is properly licensed;
- Develops logistics which he uses to track changes and ensure delivery of goods;
- Monitor regulatory and legislative changes;
- Interpret and respond to custom queries;
- Implement and control desired operating procedures;
- Must be able to lead and manage a team;
- Manage Imported and Exported Goods Clearance at Airport /Seaport/ Dry port;
Job Requirements
Educational Level:
- Bachelor degree or Diploma in Business/Accounting
- Entry-level ( 1to 2 Years of Experience)
Desirable Skills
- Must have customs clearing agent valid license and identification card from Authority of Revenue and customs commission;
- Certificate training from ERCA – as a Transitor;
- Practical experience on Import and export custom clearing, shipping and forwarding;
- Fluent in English language
- Clean record from Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Agency (ERCA);
- Hard Working, self-motivated, with positive attitude;
- Good coordination skills, and should have a basic knowledge of law and accounting practices;
- Good organizational skills and communication skills in English and Amharic, both verbal and written;
- Good management skills and interpersonal skills are recommended;
- Good customer service skills and pay attention to detail.
