Job Description

Background of the Company: A social enterprise that provide households in urban areas of Ethiopia (beginning with Addis Ababa) with access to highly efficient fan-forced gasifier stoves in an innovative way to those who are most in need. Our business model is “improved cookstoves + pellets + charcoal buy-back”, wherein we sell stoves and pellets, and buy-back the charcoal our stove generate by giving the customer equal the mass of the charcoal that they return in new pellet fuel. We convert the charcoal into fertilizer, water, and air filters thereby sequestering carbon. Our company is looking for competent marketing and sales manager who are passionate about social impact.

Responsibilities

The marketing manager shall:

  • Plan, organize, coordinate and control all the marketing activities of the Company
  • Lead and coordinate the execution of marketing strategy of Company.
  • Conduct needed market assessment and help design/redesign a new model to ensure growth of the Company.
  • Analyse per market segment secondary distribution flow to ensure key operational targets are adhered to.
  • Analyze market trends and preparing forecasts with clear targets and timeline.
  • Plan and follow the outlet expansion for the products of the Company.
  • Train sales teams and distributors on excellent execution of the products of the Company.
  • Effectively lead cross functional work teams to achieve the planned results.
  • Work with management team to and follow up the implementation of projects in order to effectively imbed new practices in the organization.
  • Oversee and manage the total logistics of the Company to have the right vehicles available at the right location and time for market and promotional activities.
  • Manage the marketing department’s staff.
  • Continue to work to increase brand awareness and market share.
  • Promoting the business at trade shows and major industry-related events.
  •  Preparing and presenting quarterly and annual reports to senior management

Job Requirements

Work Experience

  • 2-5 years’ experience working as marketing and salesperson. If well experienced in marketing of new product lines and start-up is a plus
  • Fluent in Amharic, English (speaking and writting). Knowledge of Oromifa and other local language is a plus.
