GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the maintenance supervisor and shift Engineer/Production supervisor, the Skilled Mechanic has the duty and responsibility to perform inspection and repair of mechanical equipment according to accepted standard and maintenance procedure; inspect plant machineries and do the necessary corrective and preventive actions.

DESCRIPTION OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures all activities function within the objective to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations;
• Adheres to and be guided with the collective labor agreement, internal regulations and other relevant statutory instructions and orders;
• Takes direct responsibility of use, proper handling, control, and protection of company property or any other material at his disposal;
• Committed to prevention of environmental pollution and create safe and healthy working condition;
• Takes over the work from the outgoing shift mechanic checking that all working tools are in place; obtains information on unfinished mechanical repair works that need attention;
• Goes around and checks that all mechanical units in his area of responsibility are working properly;
• Reports any defects to superior and repairs minor ones;
• Requests assistance for the repair of major defects.
• Prepares Inspection and activity reports of his shift and submits to superior;
• Applies grease and oils as per lubrication scheme and records the amount of lubrication applied in each machines;
• Identifies oil /grease/leakage areas or any contamination and reports to his superior;
• Participates in factory over haul and maintenance programs;
• Cleans maintenance tools before returning to store keeper;
• Performs inspection and repair with minimum downtime;
• Uses materials that are needed for maintenance at economic level;
• Performs other related tasks as required. 

EDUCATION    Level II or equivalent grade complete in General Mechanics Stream

EXPERIENCE.   2 year
