The Opportunity
The position holder will be responsible for all operational aspects of the humanitarian intervention and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of Plan’s emergency response within his/her designated geographical area mainly related to core areas: Education, Child Protection, SRHR and SOYEE and including handling manpower and budgetary aspects of the projects.
Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
- Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
- Ensures that all staff signed safeguarding policies;
- Implement Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
About You
The Individual
- MSc/BSc in Education, nutrition, Food Security, Social studies, Public Health Rural Development, Agriculture, Economics, Development studies, Hydraulic Engineering, Sociology or other related fields is required
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience out of which 3 years on a senior level experience or demonstrated equivalent combination.
- Good managerial experience, including managing budgets
Languages required
- Fluency in English language is essential
- In addition to Amharic other local Knowledge of Local Languages (Afan Oromo) is a desirable
