About the role

You will be part of our growing team in Ethiopia, working with some of the most innovative development organisations and private sector companies. Your role is to ensure that every project and programme is implemented to the delight of our partners who deeply care about the impact of projects. In this role, you will work with a wide range of different partners from health, education, agriculture, financial inclusion and many more. You will provide administration and operations support for Viamo’s activities, support our partners with the design of digital engagement strategies, deliver exceptional customer service during the implementation of mobile and digital projects, and take great pride in fostering impact through mobile in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities

Support Project Implementation

  • Help to establish work plans and deliverables for each project under supervision
  • Support the monitoring of implementations as per project deliverables
  • Document client feedback, including needs and expectations to inform the ongoing development of Viamo’s offerings
  • Support the compilation of project work plans and deliverables for each project under the supervision of CM and/or PM
  • Provide support to Viamo’s partners in Ethiopia for the effective use of Viamo’s services in the domains of education, health, agriculture, access to justice, financial inclusion, and more
  • Facilitate trainings and workshops as needed
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, testing and other field activities
  • Work with partners to design and launch effective mobile engagement projects. This includes building relationships, co-designing projects, responding to information requests.
  • Delight our partners with quality, timely execution of program deliverables.
  • Support the logistical preparation of field trips

Office Administration

  • Help organize and maintain office common areas.
  • Perform general office clerk duties and errands.
  • Organize travel by booking accommodations and reservations needs as required.
  • Support the Ethiopia team in the preparation of the various administrative documents required
  • Organise and maintain contract inventory for local suppliers
  • Manage procurement process in collaboration with F&A team
  • Maintain supply inventory for project(s).
  • Manage petty cash in the office and ensure compliance
  • Coordinate events as necessary.
  • Attend meetings and document minutes of meetings
  • Maintain office equipment as needed.
  • Create, maintain, and enter information into Viamo databases.

Content Management

  • Create and organise content scripts according to company best practices to share with the team for translation and recording.
  • Provide inputs in the development of content and edit scripts before translation and recording
  • Support the facilitation of training and content development workshops as needed
  • Ensure that all received content is of high quality, in the agreed-upon format and delivered on time.
  • Once the sound files and text files have been sent back, review and compare the content to ensure consistency, grammatical accuracy, and clarity of the messages.
  • If revisions to the sound file or the text need to be made, send it to the production team explaining the problem. Repeat as necessary.
  • Update master document containing all messages across all languages
  • Document and archive any changes made to the content of the service
  • Coordinate with Recording and Translation Studios on content work

Team and Reporting Structure

  • Reports to Country Manager and Project Manager

Profile

  • University degree, 2-4 years of professional experience in a client-facing role
  • Experience with data collection and analysis
  • Demonstrable interest in the use of technology for development
  • Technical proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects, both large and small with varying complexities.
  • Previous experience working in Information Technology or Social Enterprise or Non-Profit
  • Fluency in English and Amharic.
  • Proven ability to work independently with a willingness to adapt to new tasks as needed
  • Great attention to detail

Desirable skills and Experience:

  • Willingness to take on different roles and responsibilities to get the job done.
  • Fluency in Oromiffa, Tigrigna or other languages
