Program Team Leader – Sustaining and Accelerating Primary Healthcare in Ethiopia 90 views

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You will be the key relationship manager for SAPHE towards the government and related entities, as well as provide subject matter expertise and knowledge of the Ethiopian context to the program.

 

In this role, you will provide managerial, executional, reporting and technical assistance across program workstreams as needed.

 

You will be in charge of overall operational responsibility for the project and report directly to the task team leaders. You will work directly with the team of senior advisors and implementation leads to ensure that they are progressing in their work according to their workplans and guide them as needed to perform their duties. Your responsibilities will also include performing any other activities needed to ensure the project is progressing in accordance with the overall implementation plan and that its objectives are achieved, including preparing progress reports and any work required to achieving the project KPIs.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as part of Sustaining and Accelerating Primary Healthcare in Ethiopia (SAPHE).

SAPHE provides technical assistance to the government of Ethiopia, specifically the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA).

You will work closely with the engagement manager, the Health Systems Delivery Lead–Implementation (HSDLI), the task team leaders, senior advisors, implementation leads and other relevant project members in supporting the government in strengthening the health system across Ethiopia.

The team leader (TL) role is designed for a period of five months (Feb – June 2021). Travel outside of Addis Ababa may be required during the course of services.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health, health economics or related field
  • 10 years experience in health systems and health systems reforms preferably  in Sub Saharan Africa
  • Experience working in the health sector with focus on providing assistance to
  • government in delivering major health reforms
  • Experience in a top tier strategy consulting firm is an asset
  • Excellent managerial skills; ability to manage complex client and team environments
  • Proven experience in planning, developing, managing and delivering projects
  • Proven experience in delivering impact on large scale public and private sector programmes
  • Experience working on donor funded international development programs
  • (UKAID, WB, USAID) is an advantage
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
  • Excellent reporting, organisational, writing and communication skills
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Amharic is an asset
