Job Description

  • Program development and Field Operation – Manage & oversee EiE & CP/GBV program activities & operations in the zones – Lead & coordinate the assessment on situations of emergency crisis affected areas for EiE and CP/GB for further funding – Lead baseline study, semi/annual reviews, and evaluations during the life span of the project – Lead the preparation of quarter trench requests & work closely with finance focal persons at Hub and NO level – Supervise the work of EiE & CP coordinators
  • Reporting and Documentation – Lead the preparation of ongoing situation reports, periodic updates & analyses by field team (coordinators and officers) – Ensure effective information sharing & learning across the agencies by compiling & producing monthly & quarterly reports, timely liquidation of expenses – Assist on the documentation of best practices and challenges to generate materials in education and CP/GBV – Monitor the impact of BETE in the framework of EiE & CP
  • Resource Management – Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, & Logistics to access the support required for project implementation, expenditure & actual monitoring and follow-up including monthly FFR review & update project outline with any significant changes and secure the required approval. – Manage the overall project budgets according to the plan & provide accurate & timely information on the status of expenditure for recording in the system. – Manage operation budget of BETE as required
  • Coordination, partnership and networking – Establish effective working relationships with the government counterparts, implementing partners, private & public sectors, consultants, & other development organizations and target populations in the program operation. Work with the implementation partners to identify and address potential capacity building and/or support needs. Participate on Regional Level Monthly cluster meeting as requried. – Ensure overall representation of WV in EiE and CP/GBV
  • Monitoring and Supervision – Conduct regular monitoring visits to intervention woredas to ensure the progress of project implementation on a good track and ensure learning is integrated into future program design. – Develop appropriate monitoring mechanisms and put in place to monitor and evaluate the impact of the project implementation in different project locations

Job Requirements

  •  BA/MA degree in Educational planning and managemen, educational leadership, project managemnt, social work and related areas, program/project development and management in emergency context is required. – Knowledge, skills and ability to implement integrated multi- sectors project. -Knowledge of Humanitarian Project cycle.
  •  A minimum of five years experience for BA and three years for MA in, Educational planning and managemen, educational leadership, project managemnt, social work and related areas, program/project development and management in emergency context is required.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing Education in Emrgencies and child protection project – Knowledge and experience on monitoring and evaluation of projects is an assest – Demonstrated understanding of the Ethiopian education policy and education in emergency programming – Experience in life skills education and alternative basic education, accelerated learning program (ALP) & accelerated school readiness (ASR), psychosocial support, teachers training, community capacity enhancement, and related.
