Our team is recruiting Quality Control Officers to join the founding team in Addis Ababa

The role of the Quality Assurance is to be responsible for ensuring the products manufactured by the company meet the quality standards and requirements set by the certification standards.  Specific duties of the quality assurance professional include analyzing the various production processes and tools adopted, checking the products and equipment being produced, drawing samples from the produce, finding out pieces with faults, noting down the number of pieces with problems and the types of problems found, suggesting improvements in the production process, assisting in preparation of training manuals and training programs, and promoting quality assurance campaigns in the organization.

  • Assures consistent quality of production by following the product specification guidelines and enforcing processes to ensure the products meet the certified standard.
  • Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with product and safety standards
  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies
  • Ensure all machine operative employees are trained on the company’s quality assurance standards and product standards.
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and accountable to ensure any machinery defect is highlighted immediately should it not meet quality standard requirement to mitigate material waste.
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
  • Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.) maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day,
  • Prepare and submit all reports to the Quality Manager, highlighting any critical findings immediately.
  • Develops quality assurance documentation and plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; and monitoring inventories.
  • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes, measuring production, documenting evidence, determining operational and performance qualification, and writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Collaborates with Management to improve product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.

Job Requirements

  • BA or BS in appropriate discipline
  • Experience with QA measuring and testing equipment
  • Knowledge of safety requirements and legal standards
  • Working knowledge of quality system requirements
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, Project Management, and Analytics software
  • Ideally have experience in Aseptic or pharmaceutical or medical supplies
  • Must be motivated to achieve business goals and objectives with a flexible approach.
  • Good Communication Skills to ensure active motivation and good team-work.
  • Ability to drive process change through to completion
  • Shift flexibility: The company will operate in shifts flexibility to work both day and evening shift
