Purpose of the position:
Under the overall guidance of the READ II Senior Advisor, the Regional Education in Conflict & Crisis (EiCC) Coordinator provides overall coordination and technical oversight to the READ II EiCC implementation. The Regional EiCC Coordinator is the core regional READ-II team and she/he is responsible for assuring that the READ II EiCC program implementation is well planned, coordinated, and consulted among the core READ II team, regional education bureau and other relevant stakeholders. She/he must demonstrate result oriented extensive competencies for compelling Result Based Management approaches and outcomes. The purpose of the role is to ensure partnership, collaboration, and timely implementation of the READ II EiCC activities.
Major Responsibilities:
· Conduct community mobilization workshop to facilitate the establishment of temporary learning spaces among IDP & host communities.
· Mobilize communities to send their children to the respective temporary learning spaces in the READ II implementation sites.
· Train IDP/hosting management committee and hosting community, PTSA and KETB members on Psychological First Aid, psychosocial support, child protection and etc.
· Organize workshop to school communities to mobilize children to go back to learning.
· Engaged in the distribution of EiCC materials.
Duration of the contract: Four Months
Duty station: Bahr Dar
Job Requirements
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
Required Professional Experience:
· At least five years’ work experiences in emergency and refugee context, USAID/ READ projects, community and parent engagement, classroom instruction / school administration in an NGO environment.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
· BA/Bsc Degree in education, social sciences, Foreign Languages and Literature, communications. An advanced degree in Education, social sciences is advantageous
Travel and/or Work Environment
· The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 50 % of the time
