Ethiopian Elderly and Pensioners National Association (EEPNA), is a national umbrella institution of older people Associations in Ethiopia that works for the right and wellbeing of over 6.8 Million older Women and Men in the Country. It is the only institution of its kind representing grassroots older people associations and serving as the main voice of Ethiopian Older people. We aspires to see older person’s rights, privileges and access to basic services attained and their participation in Socio-Economic and political development of the country ensured. With its national hub at Addis Ababa, EEPNA has Regional Chapters at all Regions and Both city Administration of the Country.

Currently with financial support from European Union Delegation to Ethiopia under CSF III program, we are on process to start implementation of the 3 year project titled “Harnessing the voice and contribution of older people in socioeconomic and political transformation of Ethiopia.”  The main objective of this project, implemented nationwide in collaboration with HelpAge International, is to enhance the roles and participation of older people and their institution in the development and democratization process of Ethiopia. Therefore to effectively implement this project we are looking for competent and committed professionals on Secretary / Office Manager position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives visiting guests in a courteous and polite manner
  • Make arrangements for conferences and meetings and drafts agenda for meetings
  • Systematically manage the institutional file and database systems; maintain the personal file of staffs register all ongoing and outgoing letters and other documents
  • Conducts follow up on pending items such as appointments, meetings, correspondence, report due dates and the like
  • Receives incoming telephone calls, transmit massage, provide massages to all concerned, answer important mail massages and make telephone calls
  • Assist the program and HR staffs in coordinating activities, learning and success/case story development  and procurement process respectively
  • Handle petty cash for miscellaneous expenses and Ensure that routine office payments are processed and paid in a timely manner at the request of the supervisor
  • Regular update of institutional face book and other social media platform, EEPNA website and biannual bulletin of the organization
  • Collect mail from the post office and deliver other important documents to other offices
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Terms of Employment: One year with possibility of extension

Job Requirements

  • BA Degree or Diploma in Administration, Secretarial Science and office Management with good IT background /certificate
  • A minimum Experience of 2 years’ for BA and 4 years for Diploma
  • Good organizing and verbal/written communication skills in English, Amharic and other Ethiopian language skills as an asset
  • Proficiency in computer application skills and related software
  • Strong human and interpersonal relation
  • Ability to work flexible hours and within tight deadlines.
  • Skill of website updating, social media usage and file management,
  • Good Knowledge of accounting system, kill of booklet design and development
