Senior Government Adviser for private sector development 113 views

The Senior Government Adviser, will manage a government project concerning the development of the Private Sector and the modernisation of the government sector. S/he will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethipia and will be responsible for providing the government counterparts with advice and technical support on the private sector development and doing business reform agenda. In addition, s/he will be responsible for the day to day management of the project, including planning, coordination of inputs, ensuring that outputs are delivered and that the overall quality of the services provided is maintained. The Adviser will have the overall responsibility for the smooth running and timely implementation of the project and the efficient use of project funds. In addition, the expert will be responsible for coordination with the main stakeholders and networks.

Requirements

Qualifications and skills:

  • At least a master’s degree or equivalent diploma in economics, management, engineering, social sciences or related field. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in similar fields and at least 5 years of professional experience in addition to the minimum required below;
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills and experience in establishing strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Fully computer literate, proficient user of Microsoft Office and good understanding of database software;
  • Fluency in English, including excellent speaking, presentation and written reporting abilities.

General professional experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in any of the following fields or in a combination of the following fields: private sector development reforms, business climate reform, competitiveness, innovation, export development.

Professional experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in implementing business and investment climate reforms and/or support to the private sector in developing countries;
  • Proven leadership skills and successful experience in project coordination and team management;
  • Experience in Ethiopia or Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) will be an asset;
  • Experience in the application of EDF procedures will be an asset.
