Job Overview:
The Senior Health Officer (SHO) will be primarily responsible for supporting Emergency health response and implementation. In addition he/she is responsible to coordinate and guide a team working on emergency health services projects as well as she/he is responsible for proper planning, coordination, supervision and monitoring of emergency health response interventions. He/she with the health manager select, train, and supervise Emergency Health Officers (EHO). The position will be under Adama Field Office, based in Ginir and will be responsible frequently visit emergency project sites (Lega Hida, Sawena, Rayitu, Dalo Mena and Meda Walabu districts) for assessment, assistance and support to field teams and monitoring of program activities and summarize and share weekly update activity update, monthly and quarterly reports. The SHNO will report to the Health Manager and will closely work with field team. In addition, s/he will be focal person for both East and West Bale zones to collect and share situation update, participate on coordination (ICCM) meeting and share minutes.

Job Requirements
BSc Degree/Post Graduate Degree in Public Health, Nutrition or Reproductive Health.
- Minimum experience of 4 years for BSc Degree and 3 year for MSc/MPH Degree holders.
- Basic managerial and supervisory skill in NGO context is plus.
- Experience of project management and ability to plan, organize, and supervise implementation of emergency health response projects.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of current disaster management issues in Ethiopia and understanding of role of different stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in staff management, budget management and building effective teams.
- Excellent of coordination and representation skills with different stakeholders.
- Excellent technical and report writing skills and with excellent computer knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and fluent spoken and written English. Knowledge of Afan Oromo is mandatory.
- Ability to work under pressure and travel frequently to project sites.
