Currently, we work with pastoralist, agro-pastoral, pastoral dropouts, rural small holder farmers, rural/urban youth and street children to respond to humanitarian crises and build resilience in Ethiopia working closely with local communities, local government, donors and other key actors. GOAL E Humanitarian Response is centered on nutrition, WASH, livelihoods, multipurpose cash, NFIs and protection interventions in country wide while the recovery and development focus on livelihoods, economic opportunities, health, health and nutrition system strengthening and WASH with solid emphasis on integrated programming and community-based approach in Oromiya regional state. The Street Children programme is implemented with local partners in Addis Ababa and Hawassa.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Program Officer will support the Senior protection and partnership Manager in the overall management, planning, assessing, implementing, and reporting of the program. The SGBV Program Officer will facilitate and organize all program activities in including community awareness activities, trainings, and the management of SGBV cases.  The SGBV Program Officer will supervise case workers and WFS facilitators in their day-to-day awareness raising and response activities and ensure all the necessary trainings are provided to capacitate all staff to undertake their assigned tasks. The SGBV program Officer will be based at the in East Harerge and monitor activities in  Meta/Dedder/GoroMuti  Woredas.

· Train and mobilize case workers/WFS facilitators and community members on GBV and Sexual Exploitation and Assault (SEA).

· Train staff, other implementing partners as well as community members on SGBV/SEA.

· Train Stakeholders, BoWCA and other implementing partners and GE GBV staff on GBV incident classification system and standard intake form

· Train Staffs and other implementing partner staff on psychosocial support provision to GBV survivors

· Organize and facilitate a SGBV medical response training of medical staff on STI treatment and post-rape management

· Monitor the availability of essential medical and other supplies to support GBV case referrals to government clinics

·  Assist the S/P/P Manager in the preparation of GBV training materials appropriate to the needs of the community and trainees.

· Coordinate activities with all stakeholders and the community to build cooperative working relationships at the Woreda level.

· Supervise case workers and WFS facilitators and carry out regular supportive supervision during awareness raising sessions and provision of case management

· Organize awareness raising campaigns on International Women’s Day, HIV/AIDS Day, 16 Days of Activism

· Ensure a holistic case management service is availed to women who have experienced trauma or are at-risk of SGBV.

· Ensure close follow up of SGBV cases and proper recording of developments and referrals in take files

· Attend cluster coordination and SGBV taskforce meetings.

· Work on the monthly progress reports and weekly update and share to the S/P/P manager

·   Participate in the design and implementation of program and project evaluation.

·  Attend capacity building trainings as requested by the program manager.

·   Integrate CP and GBV issues at all time and work with the CP team together.

·   Perform other duties as assigned by the S/P/P Manager

BA/MA in Psychology/Sociology or other related social science field with one years related experience for MA holders and two years for BA holders preferably in NGO environment.

· Strong knowledge and application of Child Protection issues and understanding Child Psychology.

· Strong training and facilitation skill.

· Efficient skill in analysis and use of information; consider available information from appropriate sources to ensure evidence-based decisions, identifies options and makes timely recommendations.

· Effectively and efficiently communicating with others to build effective networks and alliances.

·  Fosters working in teams & team work spirit.

·  Motivated and able to work independently,

·  Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Knowledge of local language,
