KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and ensure implementation of high impact and targeted HIV prevention program by all local implementers.
  • Initiate, coordinate and play key role in development of standardized and evidence based behavioural change communication materials, national strategies, guidelines and training manuals.
  • Mobilize and initiate development of workplace policy and strategy for HIV/AIDS that could help risk free environment.
  • Organize, conduct and facilitate national level sensitization and high level advocacy workshop.
  • Analyse polices, strategies and actions in multisectoral response to identify bottlenecks in response to HIV/AIDS. Identify ways of amending and revising them to create an enabling environment.
  • Mobilize, initiate and play key role in developing different social mobilization and partnership related guidelines, training manuals and broachers.
  • Organize and conduct different trainings/consultative workshops to intensify HIV/AIDS multisectoral response at different levels.
  • Work with partners to strengthen leadership and advocacy capacities for HIV/AIDS prevention and multisectoral responses.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with line ministries, donors, and other stakeholders to enhance collaboration in HIV/AIDS response.
  • Mobilize efforts to support communities affected by HIV/AIDS, particularly addressing household-level needs
  • Provide technical assistance to partners in designing and implementing projects focusing on social mobilization and partnership or combination prevention
About You

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Master’s degree or higher in General Public Health.
  • The incumbent MUST have an undergraduate degree in health sciences.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 14 years for Master’s degree with progressive professional strong experience on HIV/AIDS prevention and control programs. Or
  • Minimum 12 years for PhD degree with progressive professional strong experience on HIV/AIDS prevention and control programs
  • Demonstrated experience in compiling reports and analysing data related to HIV/AIDS response is preferable.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, facilitating collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working in complex stakeholder environments especially characterized by multiple tiers of governments, variety of implementers,
  • Experience of grant writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluency in written, reading, and spoken English is required.
  • Computer literacy: Routine use MS-office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and internet and email systems required.
  • Ability to use additional statistical analysis packages is an advantage.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Both the Civil service and MoH/RHB rules and regulations will be applied to guide the day-to-day activities and performance of the manager.
