As a key member of the supply chain team, the Import & Logistics officer is responsible primarily fulfill company’s demand by actively working on the set goals and the overall direction of the procurement program. This position is considered to play a key role within the supply chain unit and requires a high degree of punctuality, procuring high-quality and cost-efficient supplies, maintain an up-to-date procurement activities and responsible for the satisfaction of daily procurement needs under the supervision of supply chain Manager.

Job Description

·        Receive purchase requisitions, initiate and keep track of orders, monitor shipment schedule & clearance and ensure on time delivery.

·        Work with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and delivery requirements.

·        Suggest sourcing strategies, research and evaluate prospective suppliers.

·        Responsible for order placement, timing, supply/demand alignment, material replenishment and evaluate supplier performance.

·        Effectively manage expenses against approved budgets for procurement, follow procurement policy and procedures, facilitate and assure receipt of payment by supplies.

·        Evaluate the performance of suppliers based on practices and report on a regular basis.

·        Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and closely work with team members.

·        Record and Maintain up-to-date information and prepare continuous and periodic report to related departments

·        Deliver timely and full information for effective decision

·        Perform clerical procurement activities and assist Logistics

Job Requirements

1. Background.
1.1. Education Requirements:                                                                                                                                                         
       Must Have:  Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply chain Management, Management or related Fields.
1.2. Experience Requirements:
       Must Have:  5 years of experience in procurement/foreign purchase and related post
2. Skill and Knowledge Requirements.
  – Knowledge customs rules, regulations and tariffs, procedures at bank and related authorities.
  – Knowledge of Windows and MS Office environment like MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, Typing Skills (English & Amharic).
  – Excellent language & communication skills (verbal and written) – Excellent in email correspondence, letters, convincing people.
  – Ability to plan, prioritize & schedule workloads.
  – Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
3. Personal Characteristics / Qualities.
  – Highly Organized.
  – Analytical abilities: Attention to details, analyze and create preeminent report.
  – Interpersonal skills: Cooperative and formal.
  – Motivation: High energy, self-directed & willing to accept and changes and challenges
–         Ability to work on self-employed
