Oromia Development Association (ODA) invites committed, experienced and competent applicants for the following position:

ODA is a nonprofit local organization established and registered as an Ethiopian Residents Charity, with the mission to contribute to community development through innovative community based approaches. Currently ODA is awarded a project entitled “FUTUREs- RH/FP project from CARE Ethiopia to be implemented in I/A/Bora zone of oromia region. Previously, ODA successfully implemented the community-based interventions and integrated health service projects in Oromia Region.
* Job Summary
Under the leadership of Regional project Manager, the Zonal Coordinator is responsible for planning, execution and for overseeing the successful implementation and delivery of RH and FP program activities to achieve its intended goal in the implementation in I/A/Bora zone. He/she coordinates the planning, implementation and delivery of defined and agreed upon and service delivery/practice.
* Duties and Responsibilities /Job Description/
- Build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of people and sectors in the Zone in addition to own team;
- Help build lower-level team’s project management capability by collaborating with other staff, coaching and mentoring others and generally encouraging the appropriate use of project management technique;
- Plan, coordinate and provide back up support for selected woredas in the zone.
- Work with zonal health department to strengthen the partnership as well as ensuring sustainability.
- Coordinate with Zonal/Woreda RH/FP focal person to provide site level RH program mentoring and supportive supervision.
- Support the ZHD and WoHo to ensure that timely and effective data collection, recording and reporting system is in place at all levels.
- Support the zone/woredas to conduct training needs assessment in FP and RH related topics and facilitate gap filling trainings.
- Review the performances of woreda coordinators regularly.
- Complies with policies and procedures governing the project and ensures that the project is operating at maximum efficiency;
- Prepares reports regarding project operations, and analyses and evaluates the effectiveness of the project and develops new methods aimed at greater success;
- Collaborate with CARE Ethiopia regional and zonal staff in project monitoring, evaluation and performance review meetings.
- Make workable plans to cope up with prevailing situations.
- Ensure the RH/FP project implementation experiences from best performing Woredas are shared to other Woredas in the Zone,
- Identifies areas for crosscutting collaboration with ZHD and relevant partners;
- Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
* Qualifications Work experience and Skill /Job Requirements/
- Master’s Degree in public health or equivalent, minimum of Three-year relevant work experience in RH/FP program, HIV/AIDS or related program
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or Nursing with minimum of Five-year relevant experience in RH/FP program, HIV/AIDS or related program
- Proven experience in health program management of at least three years;
- Proven experience of stakeholder capacity building skill: facilitation, presentation, communication and monitoring impact of capacity building interventions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Amharic and Afan Oromo language
* Type and terms of employment: Full time fixed contract base for one year with possibility of extension
