As part of our business expansion and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions, we are seeking a qualified, experienced, and results-oriented Senior ELV Tendering & Proposal Engineer to join our team.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and managing technical and commercial tender documents for ELV, ICT, BMS, and smart-building engineering projects. The candidate must be capable of reviewing tender requirements, preparing technical proposals, developing BOQs, conducting cost estimations, and ensuring complete and timely bid submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze public and private sector tender documents and bidding requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive technical and financial proposals for ELV and smart-building projects.
- Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material take-offs, and detailed cost estimates.
- Prepare technical compliance matrices, deviation reports, and tender evaluation documents.
- Prepare technical specifications, system descriptions, engineering methodologies, and project implementation plans.
- Coordinate with suppliers and international manufacturers to obtain quotations, product datasheets, technical specifications, and authorization documents.
- Review tender eligibility requirements and ensure compliance with administrative, technical, and financial submission criteria.
- Prepare and organize complete tender submission packages.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Management teams during the bidding process.
- Support pre-bid meetings, technical clarifications, and client presentations.
- Identify technical and commercial risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Maintain an organized database of tender opportunities, quotations, submitted bids, and project references.
About You
Required Technical Knowledge
- Applicants must have practical knowledge and experience in preparing proposals for some or all of the following systems:
- CCTV and Video Surveillance Systems.
- Access Control and Time Attendance Systems.
- Fire Alarm and Fire Detection Systems.
- Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Structured Cabling and Network Infrastructure.
- Public Address and Voice Evacuation Systems.
- Video Intercom Systems.
- Data Center and Server Room Infrastructure.
- Smart Home and Intelligent Building Automation.
- UPS, PDU, Server Racks, and Supporting Infrastructure.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in ELV engineering, system integration, technical proposal preparation, or tender management.
- Proven experience preparing technical and financial bidding documents.
- Practical experience in BOQ preparation, material estimation, and project cost calculation.
- Familiarity with Ethiopian public procurement procedures and private-sector bidding processes.
- Experience working with international ELV manufacturers and suppliers is an added advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Excellent technical report and proposal writing skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering drawings.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs.
- Knowledge of relevant IEC, ISO, EN, and NFPA standards.
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, KNX, and other building automation protocols is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict tender submission deadlines.
