About the Job
Under the direct supervision of the Area Program Manager, the medical storekeeper is responsible for managing the drugs, contraceptives, and consumable medical and non-medical supplies storage at the North area program office medical store. The incumbent ensures the safe storage and proper documentation of all items coming in and out of the store. They are also responsible for preparing monthly drug consumption reports and purchase requisitions as per the instructions of the manager. Additionally, the job holder will support the Commercial Sales, Private Sector Support, and Pillar 1 Channel teams in receiving and issuing medical and non-medical supplies.
2-DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure proper storage of all RH-related pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, and non-medical supplies according to national policies and standards.
- Implement effective stock control, utilization, timely ordering, and restocking procedures for drugs, contraceptives, and medical supplies.
- Store all materials in appropriate places to protect them from rain, dust, pilferage, and deterioration.
- Issue the correct types of supplies, contraceptives, and medications based on prescriptions.
- Provide clear explanations and directions to clients on the use of contraceptives or medications issued.
- Alert supervisors when contraceptives and other medical supplies are nearing their expiry dates.
- Ensure all medicines and supplies are safely and properly stored and maintained.
- Prepare and submit stock reports as per the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with relevant units and obtain approval from the Clinic Manager to prepare and disburse stock.
- Consolidate the annual purchase plan for drugs, medical and non-medical supplies, and equipment.
- Based on the center’s business needs, he or she will be assigned to the center’s pharmacy unit.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Area Program Manager.
About You
Qualification Requirements
a. Education:
- Diploma in Pharmacy
b. Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Druggist, with demonstrated skills in the procurement, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
- Skills, Attitudes, and Attributes
- Excellent customer service and quality care awareness
- Strong understanding of supply chain concepts and strategies
- Familiarity with MOH and donor guidelines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in using computers and office software packages, including experience with automated electronic supply chain management systems like the ICM software.
