Purpose of the Job:
To improve quality and reduce cost of successful capital projects by delivering ‘’best in class’’ projects that meets strict safety, quality, capital and schedule requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage projects of varying complexity that span organizational boundaries and is responsible for their successful delivery.
- Ensure that projects are conducted at the highest quality, within time and budget, and that the risk level is managed.
- Coordinate and supervise project execution related activities, from initiation to close out (hand-over).
- Meet the project scope, status, and responsible for controlling.
- Interface with major projects/initiatives at the specific site.
- Ensure compatibility and consistency with existing organization and industry standards.
- Coordinates all stakeholders.
- Facilitate problem-solving and planning sessions.
- Responsible for regular adjustment with business strategy.
- Lead project teams and assure escalations and quality of deliverables.
- Prepare formal fact based technical reviews and discussions with appropriate functional leaders including recommendations with risks and/or options.
- Ensure adequate functional resources are available and raise / escalate if they are not.
Generic Duties of the Position:
- Develop and implement the Division’s plans and objectives.
- Develop, approve and monitor the Division’s budgets.
- Identify human resources requirements of the Division and develop plan for meeting the requirements.
- Develop, implement and review relevant divisional policies and procedures.
- Review, approve and submit Divisional reports to relevant organs.
- Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, on-going performance dialogue and feedback.
- Manage disciplinary concerns of the Division’s staff.
- Represent the Division in internal and external relationships.
- Participate in group decision making process by forming part of different groups/committees.
About You
Qualification and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related fields with six (6) years of demonstrated experience out of which three (3) years in a managerial position
Or
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related fields with eight (8) years of demonstrated experience of which four (4) years in a managerial position.
