Cadila Pharmaceuticals (Ethiopia) P.L.C, is a Joint Venture Company between Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited, India and Almeta Impex P.L.C, Ethiopia, put up a Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing facility for Tablets, Capsules & Liquids at Gelan, near Addis Ababa.  The aforementioned Plant is one of its kind in Ethiopia and the first and only Pharmaceutical Formulation Manufacturing Plant of the country recognized as per EU guidelines, to comply with the WHO led regulatory requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

Major Responsibilities:(Major jobs the manager is required to carry out)

Budgeting & Manpower Planning.

  • Finalize budget for the next year, by interacting with each HOD in terms of payroll cost. (Permanent & employees who are on contract).
  • Control Optimum utilization of recourse, like training cost, administrative expenditure, Employee welfare etc. & proposes to the organization.
  • To finalize the organization structure to support the business for current & future business.
  • Responsible for headcount forecast & locking the numbers in the finance budget.
  • People planning during startup & locking the numbers in the finance budget.

Selection & Recruitment

  • To manage the recruitment process.
  • To ensure all open positions are filled up as per Manpower requisition form, each department & approved by the management.
  • Prepare organization chart by end of every month & submit it to India HR.
  • Preparation & review of JD’s for new & existing employees duly vetted by business.
  • Prepare & up date salary scale.
  • Manage the recruitment process & ensure candidates lift the role & company culture.

Talent Management & Development

  • Induct employees though appropriate induction mechanism as per organization SOP & strive for constantly improving the quality of induction.
  • Play a key role in Talent identification, development & retention.
  • To undertake employee engagement in identifying intervention the motivate employees, make Cadila employer of choice. Co-ordinate departmental get together & outbound gatherings.

Policy & process implementation 

  • Develop, update & implement all HR polices & procedures.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, developing & driving businesses in employee relations through uniform, equitable & transparent application of HR policies & processes on people related matters including discipline.

HRIS/MIS Updating: 

  • Ensure timely updating of all HRIS & MIS information & submit the report as & when requested.

Employee & Employer related Responsibilities. 

  • Consult advice management & staff on Labor relation issues. Ensure awareness on LRA, Basic conditions of Employment Act & all other labor legislation.
  • Represent the company on the relation with local government authorities
  • Create conducive work atmosphere.
  • Address employee grievances on time.
  • Initiate Performance Management activities Annual, Mid Term & to ensure timely completion.
  • Pay planning and specific exercise towards compensation & benefit management.
  • Together with HOD Carry out succession planning & Leadership development.
  • Increase Leadership pipeline & carry – out coaching.
  • Coach the team & ensure team & ensure team capability is constantly improved.
  • Conduct Performance appraisal for the HR team, set goals and strive for improving performance.

Policy & Process implementation 

  • Develop, Update & implement all HR policies & procedures.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, developing & driving businesses in employee relations through Uniform, equitable & transparent application of HR policies & Processes on people related matters including discipline.
  • Inform & train company HR policy.
  • Ensure Canteen, Security, Vehicles & Transportation service is given on time.
  • Control plant expenses of transportation, canteen, communication, agency   personnel’s visit related expenses.
  • Ensure that employee’s health checkup is done as per company’s SOP.
  • Separation Management: Conduct Exit interviews, do attrition analysis & ensure Smooth separation of employees from the organization. Make conscious effort to retain employees.
  •  Perform other duties as assigned.

About You

Qualification:-.BA Degree Human Resource or Masters of business administration

Experience: Minimum of 14 years relevant work experience for degree and 12 years for master’s at least 7 years in managerial positions.

  • Salary: – Negotiable within the limit of company’s present pay structure
  • Place of work: Gelan, (30 KM south of Addis Ababa)
