About the Job

Job Purpose

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operational oversight of HUBBITs working space solutions located in Addis Ababa, Bole Bulbula Bole sub-city woreda 12. The role requires strategic planning, operational efficiency, community building, and financial management to drive the growth and sustainability of the coworking space.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  •    Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies to grow the coworking space and increase sales.
  •    Identify new business opportunities and revenue streams to expand the coworking space’s impact.
  •    Set and monitor KPIs to ensure operational and financial objectives are met.

2. Operations Management

  •    Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure smooth and efficient running of the coworking space.
  •    Manage facilities, ensuring the space is well-maintained, secure, and offers a professional environment.
  •    Implement efficient processes and technologies to improve member experience.

3. Financial Management

  •    Develop and manage the budget, ensuring financial health and profitability.
  •    Prepare financial reports and monitor cash flow, expenses, and income streams.
  •    Negotiate with vendors and service providers for cost-effective solutions.

About You

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Hospitality, Technology or related fields.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with coworking management software, CRM systems, social media platforms  and other tools vital for work.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience for Masters Degree and 4-6 for Bachelor Degree in a leadership or management role, preferably in coworking spaces, shared office management, Hotel, real estate, hospitality, or startup ecosystems.
  • Strong experience in community building, customer service, and relationship management.
  • Experience working with Private Sector and diversified work environment.
  • Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team in a collaborative work environment.
  • Skilled in setting a vision and inspiring others to achieve operational excellence and strategic growth.

Communication:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English and Amharic.

  • Ability to understand trend market and drive marketing and outreach efforts to attract new customers and partnerships.
  • Ability to Develop promotional strategies to enhance visibility in local and regional markets
  • Ability to design and execute events, workshops, and networking activities to promote collaboration, and business development within the coworking space.
  • Good skill in building relationships with startups, freelancers, corporates, and investors to promote the coworking space.

Community Building & Member Relations

  • Expertise in fostering a vibrant and supportive community among members.
  • Good experience in organizing networking events, workshops, and other activities to enhance member engagement.
  • Exceptional skill in providing a positive, seamless experience for members.

Ecosystem Knowledge

  • Good understanding of the startup, entrepreneurial, and innovation ecosystem, particularly within the Ethiopian or African context.
  • Experience building relationships with incubators, accelerators, investors, and entrepreneurial hubs.
  • Ability to connect members with resources such as funding opportunities, mentorship, and industry networks.
