Overall Responsibility: The Business Unit Manager at Mobility E is responsible for overseeing and managing the business unit’s operations. This includes strategic planning, driving revenue growth, managing departmental performance, and ensuring operational efficiency. The role requires leading multiple teams across sales, marketing, procurement, and operations, ensuring that all functions align with Mobility E’s goals of market penetration, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The Business Unit Manager acts as a liaison between the business unit and higher management, driving decision-making and continuous improvement across all business aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and implement long-term strategic plans to meet the business unit’s financial, sales, and operational goals.
    • Align the business unit’s activities with the broader goals of Mobility E, such as market expansion, sustainability, and innovation.
    • Regularly update the business plan, ensuring it reflects the latest market trends, competitor actions, and internal goals.
  2. Operational Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments (sales, marketing, procurement, operations, and customer relations).
    • Ensure that business processes are optimized for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    • Monitor product availability, quality control, and timely delivery of EVs, e-bikes, and smartphones.
    • Identify and mitigate operational risks that could impact business performance.
  3. Financial Performance:
    • Develop and manage the business unit’s budget, ensuring alignment with overall financial targets.
    • Track revenue, costs, and profit margins, making necessary adjustments to ensure profitability.
    • Provide regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting performance against targets and proposing actions to improve profitability.
  4. Sales and Marketing Oversight:
    • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Head to drive revenue growth through targeted campaigns and sales strategies.
    • Ensure sales targets are met by tracking performance metrics and providing guidance to the sales team.
    • Oversee the implementation of marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility, including digital campaigns, promotions, and event participation.
  5. Leadership and Team Development:
    • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to departmental heads, ensuring teams are motivated and aligned with business goals.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, setting goals and monitoring the progress of department leaders.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment by encouraging cross-departmental teamwork.
  6. Stakeholder Management:
    • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and partners.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for strategic partnerships and collaborations that align with the business’s growth plans.

    • Provide regular performance updates and reports to senior management, outlining progress against goals and key initiatives.
    • Communicate business unit needs and challenges to senior leadership, ensuring necessary support and resources are allocated.
    • Maintain open lines of communication with all department heads to ensure alignment on key goals.
  10. Risk Management and Compliance:
    • Identify potential risks (financial, operational, market) and develop mitigation strategies to protect the business unit.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including trade laws, environmental standards, and company policies.
    • Conduct regular audits of business unit operations to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  11. Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
    • Create and manage the business unit’s budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently.
    • Track expenditures and adjust the budget to align with business objectives and market conditions.
    • Make data-driven decisions to maximize the return on investments for the business unit.
  12. Supplier and Partner Relations:
    • Maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers, especially in the procurement of EVs, e-bikes, and smartphones.
    • Ensure that supply chains are reliable and cost-effective, mitigating risks related to product shortages or delivery delays.
  13. New Business Development:
    • Identify new business opportunities within the EV and e-bike markets.
    • Lead initiatives to expand the company’s reach, such as entering new markets or launching new product lines.
    • Develop business cases for new opportunities and present them to senior management.
  14. Performance Analysis and Optimization:
    • Continuously monitor the performance of each department and take action to improve underperforming areas.
    • Use data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the business unit’s success and make informed decisions.
  15. Crisis Management and Problem Solving:
    • Lead the resolution of any major issues affecting business operations, whether internal (e.g., operational bottlenecks) or external (e.g., supplier delays).

About You

mobiEducational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or Transportation Engineering, Marketing and relate fileds
  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering Management, Mobility Engineering) or an MBA is often preferred for advanced leadership responsibilities.(optional)
  • Specialized courses or certifications in mobility solutions, autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles (EVs), or smart transportation infrastructure are beneficial.

. Professional Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience in the mobility sector, with a proven track record of leadership in engineering projects.
  • Experience working in electric mobilityautonomous vehicle technologies, or transportation infrastructure is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and oversee engineering projects from concept to implementation.
  • Experience in project management and leading large-scale mobility or engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with technical, financial, and client requirements.
