International Clinical Laboratories (ICL) is one of the largest independent clinical diagnostic centers on the African continent. ICL opened its door for service in 2004 with the aim of “contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of the quality of life throughout Ethiopia” by encompassing a system of human and physical resources designed to meet the changing healthcare needs of the population it serves.
It is the only laboratory accredited by the USA-based Joint Commission International (JCI) five times in a row. The laboratory provides more than 3000 tests in collaboration with its referral laboratories.
ICL would like to fill the following vacant positions under the Human Resources and Administration Department for Head office (AA1) by inviting all qualified and competent applicants:
Summary of the job:
The company have a long-term vision that is mainly focused on the improvement of the service to bring it to the level of world class excellence which create a constant level of customer satisfaction, so to bring this practical, the professional development of the employee which is the corner stone of the vision must develop accordingly. So, to make this practical this position plays a central role in coordinating different training needs in the company to enable the employee to use the newly invented technology, to manage induction for newly joined employee in the company, and also adopting the different type of the company policy, country proclamation and rule and regulation of the company to create awareness to the employee.
About You
Qualification and Work Experience:
- Master’s or first degree in Business fields
- A minimum of 3 years of experience for master’s level, or 5 years’ experience for first degree in a talent development position.
Required Skills and Responsibilities
- Collect and compile required data to develop talent development plans and strategies.
- Contribute to the development of policies, tools, and guidelines for talent management and succession planning process and training of staff on their usage and development of professional career.
- Develop annual training and development plans, monitor their implementation, and conduct periodic impact assessments.
- Develop effective induction programs for new staff, apprentices and graduate trainees
- Coordinate the development and rollout of the new employee induction program.
- Implement the rollout of the Company’s employee performance management, including training staff in the process and using templates.
- Contribute and follow up the implementation to the design of leadership development and succession planning programs.
- Conduct organizational diagnosis assessment, based on research and study recommend necessary actions, and oversee the implementation of actions
- Ensure talent development and succession planning data is updated in the system. Take the responsibility to Support in data analysis and preparation of reports.
- Compile a list of talent Development institutions, channels, and systems, including professional associations and higher education with their list of Talent Development programs.
- Identify training and development needs within an organization through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and human resources departments
- monitor and review the progress of trainees through appraisals, questionnaires and discussions with managers and if necessary, with the trainee, and provide trainees with timely and constructive feedback.
- promote a working culture of continuing professional development (CPD)
- design, expand and manage training and development programs based on the needs of the organizational mission and vision,
- create and/or deliver a range of training system using face-to-face, digital, and blended learning options
- produce training materials in collaboration with the respective department for in-house courses.
- Research new developments and best practices in talent management development execution and management of a continuous improvement approach for all programs.
- Adopt policies and procedures and give awareness for all employees and management staff
- plan and assess the ‘return on investment’ of any training or development program, considering the costs of planned programs and keeping within the budgets.
- Have the readiness and willing behavior to perform any additional duties or task assigned from his/her immediate boss.
Technical Competencies
- Experience in contributing to training engineering processes with managers and providers.
- Ability to negotiate, challenge and convince managers and providers.
- Knowledge of learning and development best practices.
- Knowledge of performance appraisal best practices.
- Strong analytical skills; – Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Fluent in oral and written Amharic & English.
- Problem-solving skills
