About the Job

KAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU vehicle in Ethiopia. It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Transport Operation Head position.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate and supervise fleet management and freight transport activities based on company policy and procedures and in accordance with government laws and regulations while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize, supervise and control fright transport activities to achieve profitability objectives, while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate transportation activities including dispatching, fuel consumption, vehicles conditions, settlement of fees, and collection of customer feedback.
  • Ensure that legal requirement such as comprehensive and third party insurance policy, yellow card, territorial and dry cargo insurance coverages are met always.
  • Maintain documents relating to transport activities and cooperate with Manager Transport department to ensure timely collections of payments.
  • Establish reliable transport service by ensuring safety, timely delivery, and high quality service.
  • Understand both domestic and international (Djibouti) operating regulations, and ensure compliance to those regulations.
  • Make sure functionality of vehicles, and availably of drivers at all times.
  • Closely track and manage fleet movements to control costs, maximize profitability, and reduce fleet vehicles risks.
  • Involve in a process of investigating to determine causes of transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for conducting maintenance on vehicles such as preventive maintenance, scheduled maintenance services, and breakdown maintenance etc.
  • Conduct employee performance appraisal periodically to evaluate how well employees have completed their duty and to take any needful action accordingly.
  • Prepare reports for submission to the Freight Transport Department Manager.

About You

Required Number           :  1(One)

Qualification                    :  BA Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Marketing or related filed

Work Experience            :  6 years in related role

Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer skill, excellent communication skills, English language proficiency
  • Experience of Budgeting and financial controlling
  • Good understanding of relevant legal compliance, fleet management and control
