About the Job

  • Legally represent Holland Dairy as required and provide legal direction to all  departments of the company regarding legal actions or risks
  • Proactively create and maintain awareness  among employees on existing and new laws and regulations. Design and implement internal training programs for relevant staff members to ensure legal compliance and understanding.
  • Manage and mitigate data privacy risks by ensuring compliance with relevant laws and best practices, including the management of personal data, security of company records, and adherence to international data privacy standards.
  • Maintain relations with federal and regional government bodies  ensuring that Holland Dairy is compliant with all legal, regulatory and policy frameworks in Ethiopia.
  • Represent Holland Dairy in federal courts, regional courts or ambition tribunals. Prepare pleadings submitting complaints and testimonials to the police on behalf of Holland Dairy.
  • Design and oversee the company’s policy and position on legal matters. Draft legal documents such as contracts, statements, and agreements (suppliers, customers).
  • Organize and maintain a contract register and secure the renewal of all contracts, license permits, and other legal documentation.
  • Prepare, file, and plead cases for court and provide legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights and obligations of Holland Dairy.
  • Take the lead in legal issues and discuss with an external lawyer with the guidance of the department head or the management of Holland Dairy.
  • Oversee the legal department and ensure that it is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to the company’s senior management and assist shareholders on projects where deemed necessary.
  • Secure permits, and update licensees of the company and its assets including expat work and residence permits and visas. Ensure timely renewals and compliance with legal requirements for all company assets.
  • Undertake other legal tasks as assigned by the CFO, CEO, or the management team, including cross-departmental support and special projects.
