Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Position Overview:
A Coffee Sampler is responsible for collecting coffee samples for quality assessment and evaluation purposes. This role supports coffee buyers and quality control teams ensuring samples are accurately drawn, labeled, and presented for testing. Attention to detail and an understanding of coffee handling protocols are critical in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Preparation:
- Draw coffee samples from warehouses on established protocols.
- Weigh and measure samples accurately for testing or distribution.
- Ensure samples represent the lot or batch effectively and maintain traceability.
Labeling and Documentation:
- Accurately label all samples with relevant information, such as origin, lot number, and date.
- Maintain detailed records of drawn samples, including batch details and other relevant information.
- Follow hygiene and safety guidelines in sample handling and preparation.
Stuffing support
- Check packaging, necessary information and labels on bags during shipment
- Check containers cleaniness and safety to preserve the quality of the product.

About You
Qualifications/ Knowledge and Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be structured, process minded, able to maintain a general overview and must have an eye for detail. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Prior skills on sampling and stuffing coffee.
- Basic understanding of coffee processing types.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and sample management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with industry standards for sample preparation and handling.
Education
- A high school completion or diploma in agriculture, development studies , data science and also Bachler degrees are plus.
Specialized Training:
- Certificate of training for coffee sample drawers and stuffing
- Certificate of Training on Food Science
- Certificate of Training on data science and computer skills
Experience
- 3-5 years relevant experience in a Coffee production environment
- Used to have digital knowledge
- Advanced Computer skills in MS office tools especially Excel.
- Experience with management reporting.
- Good command of English and Amharic, both written and oral.
- driver’s license is needed.
Work Environment
- May involve physical tasks such as lifting and carrying coffee bags.
- Work is typically conducted in warehouses, labs, or production facilities.
