Position Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver to join our team at our Edible Oil Plant in Kotu-Debre Birhan. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to transport raw materials, finished products, and other materials within the plant. You will help ensure the smooth flow of operations and contribute to maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials within the plant.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload deliveries of edible oil and other materials from trucks, ensuring safe handling and correct placement in storage areas.
- Inventory Management: Transport and organizing materials in storage areas, helping to maintain accurate stock levels and ensuring proper storage conditions for products.
- Material Handling: Assist in the movement of materials to and from the production lines, ensuring a steady supply of raw materials for production and timely distribution of finished goods.
- Warehouse Organization: Maintain the warehouse and storage areas in a neat and organized manner, optimizing space for efficient storage and easy retrieval of materials.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, ensuring that all equipment is used safely and that potential hazards are reported and addressed promptly.
- Routine Equipment Checks:Conduct regular checks on the forklift to ensure proper functioning, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Documentation: Accurately log the movement of materials, including quantities and locations, and report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the appropriate departments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities, maintaining effective communication to meet plant objectives.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Forklift Certification: Valid forklift operator certification required, as per local regulations.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing, warehouse, or similar industrial setting. Experience in a food production or oil manufacturing environment is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy loads, and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in managing inventory and ensuring materials are handled safely and accurately.
- Safety Awareness: Commitment to adhering to safety procedures and promoting a culture of safety within the plant.
- Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and maintain efficiency.
