Major duties and responsibilities as Accountant, Account Analyst and Finance Officer • To provide financial reports to enable budget holders and managers to manage budgets effectively. • Prepare Cash projection • Make sure the Authorization Schedule issued is in place and appropriated logistics/procurements are completed and attached. • Ensure the implementation of finance policies, procedures and systems. • Oversees that the office’s cash operations are carried out properly and whenever irregularities are observed, report to Finance Manager. • Preparing different financial report (monthly, quarterly and annual) and submitting to respective users; • Reviewing monthly budget and monitoring reports as per the organization and donors’ financial policy, rules and regulations; • Tracking the project expenditures in line with the right budget line with donor’s contract, usually on grant projects; • To monitor the cash flow of The Brooke’s project offices, and overall budget and financial reports, and fund request from Brooke UK, monitor UK Receivable & Payable to settle monthly. • To ensure that The Brooke Ethiopia and its project offices have sufficient funds to maintain their activities. • To monitor and provide support to the Brooke’s project offices, and to the Brooke’s partners in Ethiopia • Keeping records of fixed assets, stock and inventories for proper handling and correct balance at their places; • Prepare general journal, assign codes & post transactions into accounting software on monthly basis; • Check and Review All Finance documents for their correctness before preparing payments. • Follow – up of advances for their timely settlement according to organizational financial manual; • Supervise subordinates (casher, store keeper assistant accountant, Finance Assistance etc) to ensure proper carrying out of their duties and responsibility; • Facilitating the project audit as required; & provide document by the requirement of Auditors • Prepare staff monthly payroll and transfer each staff salary & PF & Follow-up on timely remittance of taxes; & Prepare Tax Report to submit Inland Revenue. • Document Review & Working on BVA Clarence every day and make analyses for each grant at the time of grant closing period. • Prepare Monthly and Each grant Report. • Check the Bid according as the IRC Purchasing manual based on my limit.(SOP and matrix) 2. Major duties and responsibilities as an Administration Officer • Accomplishing any other work assignments given from immediate supervisor. • Handles procurement in accordance with the Follow-up Procurement Policies and Procedures of the organization, and ensures that materials required are purchased and delivered on time; • Maintains up-to-date records of purchased and issued items and store documentation in accordance with organization’s Store/Warehouse Management Policies and Procedures 3.
