CHADET is an indigenous non-governmental organization that works to improve the lives of marginalized children in Ethiopia by providing access to quality education and improving livelihood opportunities. CHADET was established in 1995 by managing director Anannia Admassu with a strong believe and will-power to bring about lasting change in the lives of children that otherwise would have few opportunities. Investing in childhood, CHADET gives children a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and to thrive for a better future.
The first project was launched in 1997 in Addis Ketema, Merkato; one of the most congested parts of the city of Addis Ababa where tens of thousands of street and disadvantaged children live. In subsequent years the organization expanded its intervention areas in many other regions throughout Ethiopia. With over twenty years of experience, CHADET has established itself as a well-respected, authoritative organization among the communities it’s working with, its partners and donor organizations as well as the government.
