American Embassy Community Association (AMCOM) is a non profit Employees’ association with a purpose of providing divers service to American Embassy direct hires and other eligible American association members.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, create and maintain the accounting records for the company using the QuickBooks Online applications. Reconcile all accounts, running and customizing reports that provide business analysis and results. Prepare critical financial documents by collecting, tracking, and correcting the company’s finances. The Accountant is also responsible for, ensuring reconciliation of bank statements, and financial records are accurate throughout the year.

Specific Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain QuickBooks Online company data. Understand the account and company setup steps and maintain a general knowledge of the major areas of the QuickBooks Online application.
  • Create and maintain QuickBooks Online users, and set and maintain the appropriate access levels.
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
  • Create and maintain vendor records, including contact information, payment terms, and any other information required.
  • ensures all financial records and statements are in line with laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or irregularities found in records, statements, or documented transactions.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial reports and disclosure
  • Create and maintain employees including contact information, payroll salary or rate information, and related employment data, such as W-4s and other new hire paperwork. Transactions:
  • Invoice customers. Upon approval, distribute invoices to customers via email or mail.
  • Manage bills received from vendors (Plus only).
  • Create and maintain time tracking records, if applicable. (Plus only)
  • Prepare or monitor the preparation of payroll. Make journal entries as directed.

Salary: As per the company Scale

Requirements

  • B.A/B.Sc Degree in Accounting, Finance or Related fields of study
  • Minimum of Five years’ hands-on work experience
  • Excellent knowledge of QuickBooks software
  • Work fluently with Microsoft Office, email, browsers, Windows operating systems,
  • Ability to working with numerical data, attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of QuickBooks Online application: Free, Basic, and Plus.
  • Knowledge of business and accounting terms such as profit, ROI, assets, liabilities, etc.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures, such as copying, faxing, filing, and shredding.
