Position Summary
The Manager – BIM/VDC & Project Technologies is responsible for leading the implementation and optimization of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), and digital twin technologies across all OVID subsidiaries engaged in engineering, construction, and infrastructure development.
This role will oversee the integration of design, cost, and schedule data (3D–5D BIM), ensuring that projects are delivered with maximum efficiency, quality, and compliance to international standards. The Manager will also establish and enforce ISO 19650-compliant Common Data Environment (CDE) frameworks, enabling seamless collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams.
As a strategic leader in OVID’s digital transformation journey, the position holder will drive the adoption of cutting-edge project technologies, improve productivity, reduce risks, and position OVID Holding as a regional leader in digital engineering and smart construction delivery.
Core Purpose of the Role
To lead BIM, VDC, and project technology adoption across OVID subsidiaries, ensuring ISO 19650 compliance, digital twin setup, and full integration of design–cost–schedule data for efficient, sustainable, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
BIM/VDC Leadership & Implementation
- Lead the adoption and management of BIM/VDC platforms (Revit, Navisworks, Bexel, and related tools).
- Establish standards, workflows, and protocols for BIM/VDC use across projects.
- Manage multi-disciplinary BIM coordination (architecture, engineering, MEP, construction).
- Ensure consistent model accuracy, version control, and interoperability across teams.
ISO 19650 & Common Data Environment (CDE) Compliance
- Implement and manage a CDE framework compliant with ISO 19650 standards.
- Define and enforce data exchange protocols for collaboration across subsidiaries and partners.
- Ensure document control, version management, and digital traceability in all project data.
Digital Twin & Project Technology Integration
- Oversee the development of digital twin environments for major infrastructure and real estate projects.
- Drive design–cost–schedule (5D BIM) integration for accurate forecasting and project control.
- Support lifecycle asset management through integration of BIM data into facility management systems.
- Pilot and scale emerging project technologies (IoT sensors, AI-enabled project monitoring, AR/VR simulations).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Finance, and Project Management Offices to align BIM/VDC outputs with operational needs.
- Provide technical leadership to subsidiary project directors and engineering teams.
- Act as a bridge between design consultants, contractors, and OVID’s internal teams.
Training, Standards & Change Management
- Develop and deliver training programs for BIM/VDC adoption across subsidiaries.
- Establish group-wide BIM execution plans, digital standards, and best practices.
- Promote a culture of digital engineering and ensure strong user adoption.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor project performance metrics derived from BIM/VDC models.
- Provide regular reports to the CDTO/COO/CEO on digital transformation progress.
- Highlight productivity gains, cost savings, and risk reductions achieved through BIM/VDC.
Other Duties
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by the CDTO, COO, or CEO.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- % of projects adopting BIM/VDC standards across subsidiaries.
- ISO 19650 CDE compliance and audit success rate.
- Accuracy and efficiency of design–cost–schedule integration.
- Number of digital twin projects successfully launched.
- Training adoption rate and user satisfaction.
- Tangible cost savings, risk reductions, and productivity improvements from BIM/VDC.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Construction Management, Digital Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
- Professional certifications in BIM, VDC, or ISO 19650 standards are highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in engineering or construction project delivery.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in BIM/VDC leadership, including Revit, Navisworks, Bexel, or equivalent tools.
- Demonstrated experience in digital twin setup and 5D BIM integration (design–cost–schedule).
- Proven track record of implementing ISO 19650-compliant CDEs in multi-stakeholder projects.
Skills & Competencies
