About the Job

The Embassy of Switzerland in Ethiopia is currently advertising one (1) position of a Driver/Deputy Logistic Officer. The modalities of employment and application for the advertised position include the following elements:

Main duties and competences that come along with this position: 

  • Safe and professional transport of the Embassy staffs and official guests,
  • Ensure vehicle is Health and Safety compliant.
  • Planning routes to venues.
  • Provide support during in-country and regional trips, including planning routes, arranging visits. ensuring vehicle is properly equipped for up-country travel;
  • Support the Embassy Team in delivering correspondence, procurement, logistic arrangements.
  • Submission and follow-up for formalities for imports/exports (containers, air-freights, DHL, also through email etc.) with government offices (MOFA, customs, NISS, INSA etc.),
  • Looking after the Embassy vehicles, manage all the required supplies for the vehicle, car maintenance, cleaning and its regular service (incl. maintenance of log books and fuel supplies)

About You

Requirements for Skills and Experience: 

  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant driving experience in logistics, car driving, messenger assignments, preferably with an international organization or Government institution
  • Technical training relevant for logistics and driving of vehicles
  • Excellent knowledge of the Addis Ababa transport network
  • Good level of English, both oral and written
  • Basic computer knowledge (emails, outlook);
  • Self- starter, quick learner, team-player
  • Ability to adapt and respond to changing circumstances
  • Good communication skills
  • High level of integrity

The position will be based at the Embassy of Switzerland in Old Airport, Addis Abeba.
