Duties and responsibilities of Fleet Manger

The Fleet Manager is responsible for developing efficient vehicle deployment, maintenance service schedule. The fleet manager is also responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles.

Description:

  • Planning and coordinating the overall operation of the company’s vehicles
  • Planning and coordinating the overall operation of the vendor vehicles.
  • Assign vehicles to drivers based on operational requirements and availability.
  • Directing company’s drivers to adhere to strict schedules.
  • Processing the Registering and licensing and other issues related with vehicles
  • Developing strategies for greater fuel efficiency.
  • Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection.
  • Develop and manage the fleet budget, including fuel, maintenance, and operational costs.
  • Analyze and control expenses to minimize costs while maintaining quality.
  • Evaluate and recommend cost-effective fleet solutions, such as vehicle acquisitions or lease agreements.
  • Scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Ensuring strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules.
  • Monitoring driver behavior and ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Analyzing data to increase business operational efficiency.
  • Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles in case of theft.
  • Generate reports on fleet metrics, such as downtime, costs, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide actionable insights to senior management for decision-making.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise drivers.
  • Address driver concerns and provide support to ensure high performance.
  • Monitor driver schedules to comply with work hour regulations.
About You
  • Bachelor Degree in Auto mechanics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Management or related fields.
  • 2 – 3 years in a logistics 1 of which is as a Fleet Manager.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and transportation laws.
  • Experience in the transportation or Tourism industry.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
