Job Summary:

The Foreign Purchase Officer is responsible for managing international procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective purchase of goods and services from global suppliers. This role involves coordinating with vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. The officer works closely with the logistics and finance departments to streamline the import process, handle customs documentation, and ensure smooth delivery of materials. Strong negotiation skills, market research, and knowledge of foreign trade practices are essential for this position.

Main Responsibilities:-

  • Manage the procurement of goods and services from international suppliers.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers globally to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of delivery with foreign vendors.
  • Monitor international market trends and ensure compliance with customs regulations, duties, and taxes.
  • Maintain relationships with global suppliers to secure favorable terms and ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with logistics and shipping teams to ensure efficient transportation of goods.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring all necessary documentation for international trade is complete.
  • Coordinate payments and financial transactions with suppliers in foreign currencies.
  • Monitor and report on purchasing performance, and ensure cost control and optimization.

About You

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • Proven experience in foreign purchasing or international trade (minimum 2-3 years preferred).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with international trade regulations and logistics processes.
  • Ability to work with cross-cultural teams and manage foreign suppliers.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (ERP systems knowledge advantages).
  • Strong communication skills in English
